Why Teenagers risk there LIFE???

Hi Friends,

The above question always arises after board exams. Every year, in the months of May and June, results are declared and many students decide to quit or lose hope. As parents and teachers, we need to counsel our kids. This teenage phase is very sensitive and challenging. First, let’s understand—what is teenage?

Teenager – This is the age when children start believing that they are no longer kids and are grown up enough to make their own decisions. But the truth is, they are just taking their first step into the real world. They are still in school, yet beginning to face reality and understand life beyond books. Whatever they learn in school, they want to apply in real life—and they are not wrong. The only difference is that the real world is not easy to navigate without guidance. In fact, not just teenagers—people of all age groups need guidance to understand life better.

Recently, while scrolling through my feed, I came across a post about the 10th board results. I felt happy thinking that students would finally feel relieved. Later, I saw that 93% of students had passed, but 7% had failed. My heart went out to those 7%. I prayed that they find strength and never lose hope after their results.

Parents should handle such situations calmly so that children feel motivated and secure. I understand that some parents want their child to come first, but that’s not always possible. Some pass, some fail—but life always gives another chance.

Today, my child came to me and shared something about his school competition. One of his friends was upset because he didn’t win. My child told him, “It’s okay, buddy. We will win next time. At least we participated and tried our best. We will get the results one day.” I was surprised because he is just 5 years old—but I felt so proud. He taught me a valuable lesson.

Surely, the pressure and fear around results will reduce one day. I hope no one ever risks their life because of board exams or any other exam. Life always gives us another chance, and everyone achieves success in their own time and in their own field of interest. Sometimes, all we need is patience.

As parents, I know we expect a lot from our children. This is a reminder for myself as well—we should never pressurize our kids to achieve ranks. Every child has potential, and our role is to support them in reaching their goals.

I won’t take much of your time now. Please take care of your kids—and also look out for children around you, whether in your neighborhood or among relatives. Encourage them to pursue their goals. If they fail today, they can surely succeed tomorrow.
